To the friends who have come before, 

To those states away, 

To those who are far from shore, 

I often wish that you had decided to stay. 

Though our time together may have been short, 

Or maybe it was long, 

It ended way before, 

I was ready to move on. 

I miss you still, 

Though your heart may have floated away,

I long to perch on your windowsill, 

And I have dreamt of seeing you many a day, 

I still wish you well, 

Though you may be far away. 

And I always smile when I dwell, 

On our shared memories day by day.
